Every Fall, Nova hosts its annual Swim-a-thon. L2AS, Competitive and Teen Rec athletes swim for two hours to see how many laps they can complete. AquaGO swimmers are also invited to participate and see how many laps they can swim in one hour. It is a fun club event with music, snacks, and prizes!
This year the Swim-a-thon (& Club Bonding) will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026 at the U of A West Pool. The bonding starts at 8:30am, and the Swim-a-thon will start at 9:00am sharp!
Swimmers can obtain pledges either as a lump sum or per lap. Our lap is 50 yards, and in the past, competitive swimmers have completed anywhere between 30-100+ laps in two hours. Making a pledge-per-lap is easy, here's how:
Step 1. Click the "Donate to a swimmer" button
Step 2. Select a swimmer to credit
Step 3. Enter how much you would like to donate for every lap the swimmer completes (the maximum amount per lap will be $2.00), or you can donate a lump sum.
Step 4. Continue the checkout process and submit your pledge! You have the option to tip at checkout to help us over the platform fee, but this is optional. At the end of the fundraiser, your donation will be charged based on the number of laps the swimmer completed.
If you would like to donate via cheque (made out to "Nova Artistic Swimming"; Memo: swim-a-thon & swimmer's name), please send it to the pool with the swimmer you are pledging to give to their coach. Fundraising will remain open until end of day on November 8, 2026.
Our goal is to raise $7000 to help support our swimmers & families. Money raised by Teen Rec swimmers is going towards covering the fees to send a coach to AAS Spring recreational showcase (Red Deer) and is credited to each families' fundraising amount. For L2AS & competitive swimmers, money raised goes toward the bus for Wildrose Classic and is credited to each families' travel account. The cost for the bus is approximately $7000! Any AquaGO fundraising or general donations are always appreciated and will go towards supporting the club.
